I have been doing handcrafts of some sort for as long as I can remember. I started knitting and crocheting over 30 yrs ago, handspinning and dyeing in the early ’90′s and machine knitting in the late ’90’s I’ve also dabbled in cross-stitch, soapmaking, weaving, beadwork and other arts.
I first learned chainmaille in 1986. It was an on & off personal hobby until 2001 when I started making jewellery for sale. My jewellery designs are created by weaving rings–one at a time–into various patterns inspired by chainmaille armour. Hundreds of new weaves or patterns have been invented based on variations of historical maille samples.
I work in Sterling Silver, Copper, Brass, Bronze, Bright Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Niobium (hypo-allergenic), and also metals with colour coatings such as Enamelled Copper, Anodized Aluminum and Anodized Niobium.
